Happy "Sonday"

Wishing each of you a happy "Sonday"....the son being JESUS CHRIST......my son has moved out and is living with a friend. I was giving him some things for the place. I had an extra mixer and I gave him my blender, two towels and wash cloths.....and some food. I know we are supposed to let our children grow up and when they are disrespectful and don't want to listen to mom and dad.......or anyone.....when they are hateful and think they know everything........and don't understand why they have to work........we are to cut back on them....I have done really good but my heart hurts when I know he might be hungry and no gas.......I don't have the income to take care of him. He is 19 and I love him but he is able to work.....please say a prayer for my son to do really great on a job he finds.......Thank you for your prayers. How wonderful we can always go to JESUS and he is with us and never leaves us........

The Lord directed me to a scripture a few months ago. This is from the Student Bible.....
"If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."~~ I Timothy 5:8

I have told others about this scripture and they say well, when they are not trying or do not care........I am not helping and this is not for that and all the things I hear..........I am reminded that JESUS did not put a condition on this scripture. Jesus did not say if the family member lives up to your expectations.......if the family member does so and so.......he said to help them........and I see no conditions in this scripture. Love your family today and let them know you love them. Extend a helping hand.

Old Fashioned Soak Salad

2 heads lettuce greens, {Romaine, Boston, iceburg or curly top)
2 large medium Creole tomatoes (Beefsteak or Jersey, or any kind you choose)
6 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/8 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon finely minced garlic
1 tablespoon finely minced fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried basil or 1 teaspoon minced fresh basil

Wash and dry lettuce. Wash tomatoes, pare ends and cut into chunks. Place in a large stainless steel, porcelain or plastic bowl. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, wine vinegar, lemon juice and seasonings; whisk with a wire whisk or fork or combine in an electric blender. Pour over salad and toss to mix thoroughly. It's all right to bruise the chunks of tomato a bit; their juice is an important part of the dressing. Just don't mash them. Cover salad with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Serve in individual salad or dessert bowls and spoon about 2 tablespoons of the liquid from the bottom of the salad bowl over each portion. Makes 4-6 servings.......By Irene Wassell Democrat Gazett

Vanilla Vanilla Vanilla

I love Vanilla.......when cooking with Vanilla many times I would put some on my wrists or behind my ears just to enjoy the fragrance.

I do use vanilla in hot cocoa, store bought or homemade. I have also put a drop in my coffee.

Vanilla Brown Sugar
4 cups granulated sugar, dark brown sugar, or confectioners' sugar
1 vanilla bean, split in half lengthwise

Fill a 1-quart jar with tight-fitting lid with one of the types of sugar. Add vanilla bean.
Seal jar and store at least 1 week in cool, dark, dry place. When sugar is used up, add more until vanilla bean looses its flavor.

Suggestons~~stir in cappuccino or use in cakes.....sprinkle sugar over oatmeal. You can also sprinkle over fruit. {From Victoria Magazine 1995}

Vanilla Hazelnut Biscotti {I love this and used to make it and will again one day}
2 eggs
1 cup of Vanilla sugar like recipe above {Vanilla flavored sugar}
Pinch of salt
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cups hazelnuts, coarsely chopped {I do not use nuts but you can choose other nuts too}
1 egg white, lightly beaten

Preheat oven to 350 degrees....lightly butter and flour large baking sheet.
In medium bowl, beat eggs with a fork until foamy. Slowly add sugar and salt, mixing with a fork until blended. Set aside. Sift flour and baking powder into large bowl. Make a well in center of dry ingredients. Add egg mixture. Stir with a fork until flour is moistened and is crumbly.

Turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead gently, gradually adding nuts. When dough is smooth, divide in half. Shape each half of dough into a log 16 inches long and about 1 inch in diameter. Arrange logs on baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Brush with egg white.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown. Cool on pan set on rack for 15 minutes. Reduce oven to 300 degrees.

Remove logs from pan. Cut logs diagonally in slices 1 /2 inch thick. Stand slices upright on baking sheet. Bake a 300 for 20 minutes until biscotti are dry and lightly golden. Cool on a pan set on rack {Cookies will be crisp throughout.}

Store in airtight container up to several weeks. Great with coffee or tea....even egg nog.

What Right Does God Have to Require My Full Commitment & Surrender

1. The Lord established his throne in Heaven. {Psalm 103:19}
2. God created all things. {Colossians 1:16}
3. God has the right as our Savior and owner. Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what
is good. {Titus 2:14} Because he purchased us at Calvary with his shed blood.

Candles and Candles and Candles

I love soy candles......BeanPod is my favorite. I love Bees Wax also. Here are a few ideas I want to share with you.

You can use vegetables and fruit for candle holders. Pineapple is hospitality. Insert a candle stick in the center of the pineapple. Use more than one on a buffet. Use urns with ivy and candles.......group in three's and have some higher and lower. Place candles in the center of a rose arrangement. Bees Wax candles are just fabulous, add pretty bows around the urn.

If you have a stair case...place votives in candle holders.....three votives per step going up to the top.

Group vases or nice glasses in a tray and cover with all holly and greenry add floating candles.

You can stack an green apple and red apple and orange with a candle on top.

"One small candle may light a thousand".~~William Bradford

Purchase a bunch of wax tapers and tie with pretty organza ribbon and give to a dear friend.

Use tera cotton mini pots and glue on silk green leaves and add a votive candle. Tie with the ribbon that looks like straw........regret I can't think of the name of it! lol

Having friends over for coffee this Christmas season.......take coffee beans and place in goblet or nice glass dish and insert a fragrant votive to match the coffee scent........you can put on a tray with biscotti and other chocolates....even chocolate spoons. Always have homemade hot cocoa on hand too...your friend may bring a guest that does not drink coffee. It will still be a fun time for all.

{More candle ideas to follow}

Christmas Gift Giving Suggestions

For the baker: cookie cutters, decorating tips, decorating food colors or food paste, spinkles, anything to decorate a cookie with. Give recipes or a cookie cookbook. Place in a basket with tons or ribbon.

For the lady of the home or someone that stays at home alot: Give a basket of pretty dish towels and cloths..monogram them. Give them dish towels of the seasons.......hearts for February and flowers for Spring and Summer, Autum, and Winter and Christmas. Add pretty dish cloths too. I love these things and I buy them for myself and for others. Dish towels are not something most people keep enough on hand. This is a nice treat for someone.

UPDATE

A nice basket of all kinds of spices is a great gift to give. Many people do not even take a look at the expiration dates on their spices. I discarded my outdated spices today.

Farmhouse Rosemary Biscuits

2 cups Bisquick baking mix, plus a small amount for rolling biscuits.
1 {8 ounce} carton sour cream
1/2 butter or margarine, melted
1 tablespoon fresh, chopped rosemary

Mix first three ingredients together until sticky dough forms. Using a tablespoon, scoop a small ball of dough and roll in extra Bisquick baking mix and the rosemary. Drop into a greased mini-muffin tin, or put three balls together in a regular muffin tin. Bake at 400 for 18 minutes or until brown. This makes 12 mini muffin biscuits or 4 regular size muffin biscuits.
{Southernlady Magazine Winter 2000} Enjoy!

Vegetable Pasta Soup

1 cup of chopped onion
1/2 cup of green chopped pepper
1/2 cup of celery
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I will use olive oil)
2 {14- 1/2 ounce} cans beef broth
1 {28 ounce} can crushed tomatoes in tomato puree
1 {14-1/2 ounce} can diced tomatoes
2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of pepper (I like white pepper)
1 {16 ounce} package of frozen mixed vegetable
8 ounces of uncooked pasta...you can use the neat fun shapes

Cook onion, green pepper, and celery in hot oil in a dutch oven over medium-high heat until tender. Stir in broth and next 5 ingredients. Bring to a boil; add frozen vegetables. Return to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Stir in pasta, then cook, uncovered, an additional 15 minutes or until pasta in tender. Yield: 10 cups

Gift Ideas

If someone loves to garden....buy them a subscription to a great Garden magazine. Gloves, pick up a garden pail and fill with bulbs, pruning shears, a wooden handle trowel, packets of seeds, garden markers. Give garden ornaments. Pick up a nice Garden book.

Gifts of Coffee

Tailor a gift of coffee to those that love coffee. Look for a pretty coffee mug, visit estate sales. Give with a box of biscotti or add flavored coffee along with coffee or mocha flavored candies. Buy flavored coffee in one pot servings but mix with many flavors. Give a cream and sugar set. Find a set that is really old or beautiful.

Recipes To Follow This Week

Here are a few more suggestions that I do for holiday time and/or anytime.

Purchase a clip ornament, I love rose buds or birds.....and place on a plate when someone special comes over to visit. Then they can take the ornament home with them. This is an idea for Mother's Day or Birthday. It is well received and is something really special for the person. Also if you are having a small dinner that is a nice treat for your guests to take home. An ornament is a special gift and you can find many that your friend or family member can use all year long.

Find a nice ivory colored or a color of choice knitted scarf and sew on pearl beads all over the scarf.....it makes a beautiful gift and will last for years........you can do that will gloves too.

For those blessed with kniting of any kind making pot holders or places for warm things to lay on in the kitchen is a very nice pretty gift. You can also knit them pretty dish clothes so they can have something really pretty washing their dishes. My apartment manager made some for me one time and I just loved that gift. It was my color scheme of pink and I still have one today. That is a gift from the heart.

You can place candles on a pretty tray and wrap around garland in stars or snowflakes.....and your tray can also have a mirror for the candles to reflect...really pretty on a table or coffee table........you can take a pretty bowl and add floating candles and tops of roses floating.......that is really beautiful. Also snip the long wick before lighting the candle.......and keep it trimmed after burning. For a place setting, take a sprig of greenery and tie with ribbon and place a pretty ornament on top. A bird would be great too. Ribbons are wonderful.

"I'll tell you how the Sun rose.....A ribbon at a time."~~Emily Dickinson

You can add bows of ribbon on your candle shades.

Use wax seals on your Christmas cards this year. It makes a wonderful touch to your pretty cards. use Christmas postage stamps...if you can write in calligraphy or with gold or silver pens....that is a beautiful presentation to place in the mail. You can also insert a small flat ornament.

For those that can sew or if you find a velvet stocking.......have a monagram initial on the stocking and give with great treats.

With a small gift you can use velvet for wrapping.....place the gift in the center and put up the corners and tie with a beautiful ribbon.

Paper doilies are beautiful to decorate with. Be sure and place one in your saucer before serving hot cocoa or tea.

Learn napkin folding....and set your table with beautiful folds of napkins. Easy to find books on napkin folding...be sure to even check the library.

Head vases are so beautiful.....around the new year have ladies over and use "Head Vases" as a place setting right in the center of your plates.

Happy Monday

I love the Holy Bible....it is alive. Psalm 139........
O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my every thought when far away. You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You both precede and follow me.

PLEASE turn to this chapter in your bible and think on this....this is a wonderful chapter in the Holy Bible ....how wonderfully we are loved and we can't even consume just how much Jesus loves us.......we will never love the way he does here on earth. If we really knew just a tiny bit how much we were loved by our Lord and Savior.....we would never fear or feel alone and empty. This is a great Thanksgiving read and for everyday. Spend time with our Savior who died for us even before we were formed in our mothers womb.

Suggestions

When having friends over or family, adding ribbon around the base of the glass is very festive and you can also add silk strand of beads or flowers through the knot.

Have a tea party this coming Spring.

When shopping for Christmas gifts and you are giving a gift.....keep all receipts in an envelope or box to save in case there needs to be exchange. I just give the receipt unless I know what a person is wanting. Those are the best gifts anyway...don't buy what you like buy what they like.

I used to love doing this.....when you invite friends over put at the place setting a one time camera. Then your guests can take their own pictures. Put a treat at the place setting. A Godiva Chocolate Bar or whatever........

I use Christmas Crackers each year.....and you can buy them after Christmas usually.......purchase the ones that will go along for birthday or Valentines day.......you open them they pop and there is a surprise inside.

Tie ribbon around your dinning chairs.......I love ribbons.....I keep a box of ribbons on hand.

Ladies, part your hair different tomorrow.......parting on the side is a more romantic look. The best way to look more brighter...Touche Eclat Pen.......you can order at QVC or nice department store.

More to follow! Enjoy your Saturday evening.........make up some homemade hot cocoa with whipping cream!

From My Dentist

If you have bleeding gums of course go see the dentist but taking Vitamin C each day is healthy for your gums. I am going to start taking 1,000 mg each day.......

ALERT...if you have receding gums and feel the pain of exposed nerves.......ask your dentist for Omnii Cavity Shield.....it is a varnish and it can help that area.........I applied some to my two teeth Thursday night and I think I need to apply a bit more. I will report on this further. It is great and they also use on children's teeth.

Praise JESUS For His Glory and Mercy

We are at the middle of the month. I am sure some are getting ready for Thanksgiving and for Christmas too. Please take time today or this evening to read Psalm 91. This is such an uplifting chapter and you will feel better after you read it. I also want to give some scriptures for those that are having a hard time right now and for those that have a family member that needs the scriptures to stand strong on.

Savation of a spouse~~Mark 11:24; 2 Peter 3:9; Galatians 5:6.
Seeking employment~~Mark 11:24; Psalms 5:12; James 1:5-6; Hebrews 11:1,2

More Fun Tips

Thanks to All You Magazine.....I want to share these tips with you.....their material with my own writing added.

Look outside for even 60 seconds and when the sun shines it signals your brain that it is time to be up and alert.....this will lift you out of a slump.......Better yet, try standing in the sun a minute if nothing else.

Tea has theanine, an amino acid that revs brain activity, leaving you feel renewed.

Eating purple grapes boosts immune function, speeding the healing of pimples and other skin lesions. Pomegranate's ellagic acid protects skin cells from UV light.

Dark chocolate protect against airborne pollutants.

Know someone epecting a baby? Tell them that eating nuts during pregnancy raises your child's risk for asthma by almost 50%....(American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine). Now they told me to eat nuts when I was pregant in 1989.....things change!

Eating raisins contain phytochemicals that stifle the growth of cavity causing bacteria.

Risk for arthritis? Just eat half a grapefruit, one kiwi, four ounces of orange juice or any other fruit packed with vitamin C........vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that mops us free radicals before they can damage joint tissue, from the book The Arthritis Cure by Dr. Theodosakis.

Conserve your gas.....Check your gas cap. Gas can evaporte right of of your tank. It happens if your gas cap is leaky, broken, or loose. Look at the inside of your cap.......is it dry? Is it cracked? If so then replace with a new one........chcek with your dealer or Walmart or Sears or auto parts. Check tire pressure and air filter. If you drive 55 miles an hour on the highway, you use 10% less fuel than those who drive 10 miles faster.....this way you are sure to save gas and not get a speeding ticket!

Washing your clothes on "permanent press" can use 5 more gallons per wash than the regular cycle. If you have really nice clothes then to me its worth the price. Using permanent press on some washing machines gives an extra rinse.

Don't put your kitchen sink faucet on full blast when washing vegetables or fruit.....a gallon of water goes to waste each minute.......cut down to the size of a pencil and rinse this way saving water.

If you have room and use tablecloths.......install a curtain rod in the back of your closet to hang tablecloths and they will always be crease free.

Save the life of your razor.....carefully dry the blade after each use. Water oxidizes the metal on the blade, causing corrosion that makes the blade blunt and jaggerd..Thank you ALL YOU MAG.

Be sure when you take your clothes from the washer to shake them. I hang my things to dry....I only use the dryer for things that will not shrink and also before I put them in the dryer.....it hleps to keep from fading, stretching, pilling, damage.

You get a better deal on buying a vehicle on a rainy day; salesmen are more likely to lower the price and if the price is not what you want.....walk away........leave them your telephone number.

Surveys have shown, I don't know which ones, employees who ask for a specific salary instead of just saying they "want more money" are more likely to get a raise! Hummmmm pray about this first and I would tell them why Ideserve the raise........don't take my word though....

Wear your best shoes in job interviews.......in a new survey and I don't know the survey, 70% of all interviewers admitted to checking out a job seekers shoes to find out more about them, Hummm, I guess this is why I always looked a men's shoes before I went out with them...did they have my taste and do they have style? "lol". The best way to know someone before you go out with them is to watch and see if they are a Christian and let them tell you how they feel about JESUS and the bible. Always pray for God to send you the person he wants for you.

Another job search suggestion~~when your potential boss asks if you have any questions, say WHAT QUALITIES DO YOUR Most SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYEES HAVE? Another survey??? found that 98% of employers think more highly of job seekers who ask this question. WHY??? It not only makes you appear motivated, but the answer lets you know exactly what the interviewer is looking for---so you can taylor your future responses to come across as even more qualified. Best of luck.....I have always been blessed with my personality........I usually turned the interview around and got them to tell me more and I asked the questions....I guess that showed them I was motivated and I thought about things deeply and was careful about my decisions........but not everyone can do this. I am not suggesting you do this.

Do Not Worry

Because of hard times and the news making people afraid.....because of high prices......our economy.....Jesus' says DO NOT BE AFRAID........Read Matthew Chapter 6:25-34. No matter what we see around us or hear, the evil one satan wants us to worry and become sick with worry about our future, even this very day. The job closings....the gas prices......food prices, job loss, JESUS takes care of his children and if we become saved we ARE HIS CHILDREN. He gives the best to us........please take a few short seconds to read the scriptures I have listed.

It does not please God for us to worry.......that shows that we doubt his truth. I know it is hard....my faith is stronger now than anytime in my life.....but I have gone through trouble and in that time my faith grew stronger. Ask yourself HOW IS MY WALK WITH JESUS? Do I call on him only when I am in need or do I follow him everyday?

We are not to worry about what we eat or drink or what we are to wear.......those scriptures tell us that JESUS is going to cover us. He is our father....he will not let us go hungry, without shelter or clothing.....as long as we serve him.....Just like a human dad.......he takes care of the children or is supposed to.....God will do greater good things than a human parent.

He feeds the birds and clothes the fields with flowers.......Jesus tells us not to worry. A person will gain nothing by worrying.......Our Father knows we have need.......even before we see the need. So when the news overwhelms you.......bow to JESUS and tell him your concerns.....and thank him for what he has done for you.......things you have seen and things you have not seen. Instead of listening to the news.......which is drama to watch anyway.....raise you hands to JESUS and thank him for taking care of you. He is the Great I AM........all knowing all loving.........he will not let you down. We learn from times like these and our faith will grow stronger. In times like these we can become very close to JESUS, And GOD IS ALWAYS ON TIME. HE IS NEVER LATE. HE HEARS YOUR CRY..........HE LOVES YOU AND HE WILL ANSWER YOU!

"To Do" Suggestions

Buy yourself one fresh flower and place by your desk, bed, living room and enjoy. You will feel less stress by looking at your flower.

Visit your post office and stock up on stamps. They should have the Nutcracker stamps. I hope they have stamps for JESUS too.

Have velvet clothing? Don't iron.....freshen up by turning inside out and steam. Be careful....you might want to spot test this. I have done this before and my clothing looked really great!

Always dry clean your jacket, skirt or pants at the same time. Do not just take the pants or skirt to the cleaners...you want the color to match.

Walk and then walk....walking builds bones...walking can reduce high levels of estrogen...it makes your mood better.........helps with sleep. Also its free.

Stop Impulse Spending. Use things until they are ready to visit the garbage can. Really.....it is time to save money.....we don't need 15 pairs of shoes and 20 handbags....it really is fun to save.....even if its only $10 a week....Use all food in your pantry.....many times we have things we can make from our pantry but are not in the mood to eat.......think of new ways to prepare these items...you just may find a great new dish.

Make Red Velvet Cupcakes.

Have a yard sale. Visit yard sales.

Donate clothes to a church care center. A church where people can come in and pick up nice clothes for free. Call a church and see if there is a needy family and give nice sheets, clothing, maybe extra kitchen tools.......

Bake some sweet potatoes....They have more immunity boosting beta carotene than any other vegetable.

Have a piece of pumpkin pie......it helps your skin........it will promote collagen...now our faces need that and you can also enjoy a treat!

Eat pecans......they sharpen your brain. Pecans have Omega 3's.....they also have magnesium and calcium....

All You Magazine states that baby food applesauce is more nutritious than the adult variety. Because the peel is pureed along with the apples. I am going to buy me some.

Eat more apples.....even two a week at least. It can prevent Asthma....they have lots of fiber which links to better lung function even in smokers.

Try Ground White Pepper.....its better for you and it changes the taste just a bit. I love it.

Eat egg whites each day cooked up for a snack.....it helps our body and skin. Be sure to ask your doctor first.

Try the Simply Juices.......I love the Simply Apple and Simply Lemonade and Orange. I just tried today...Simply Orange and Mango...its wonderful.......Our Kroger has them on special for $3.00 each.

Call a family member just to say hello. Call a friend or write a nice letter today or card. Getting something in the mail means so much more!

Gift Ideas

Send someone a book of stamps....this comes in really handy for the home bound or for anyone. Place in a card and mail. It will be much appreciated.

Give a magazine subscription and make sure its something they will enjoy! Think about their personality and not what you like. When gift giving, the giver needs to think about who they are buying the gift for.......what they like not what you like!

Check out Tuesday Morning in your town. Pick up some monogram hand towels made of paper and place in your bathroom.

If someone likes tea.....pick up a pretty tea cup and saucer...one from an estate sale or yard sale and place some tea bags and wrap with a bow to give.

Little gifts mean a lot!

Holiday Recipes

Visit March-July and pick up some really great recipes just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Medical Alert

I just found this out from my surgeon.......Dr. T.Glenn Pait......when you have blood drawn....never draw your hand into a fist.......or grab a ball........if you do then Potassium can leak out from the vain into the blood...causing the wrong test results.........I am shocked.......the people that have drawn my blood my whole life has told me to make a fist.........if they say this...don't do it! Otherwise then you are wasting time and money for the blood work. Chances are you will not get the correct results.

Gift Cards

Think again before buying one as a gift. Many places are going out of business and you will have no claim on that gift card if a company files for bankruptcy. I feel certain Walmart will be around...maybe this year give a present with cash!

When We Fill Empty

Many times when a person feels empty.......it is because of the sin they are in. Here are some scriptures to help you! Spend time with JESUS....confess your sin.....and obey the word of God. Jesus is our only way to true freedom.

Psalm 51:8-12
Psalm 25:16-19
Psalm 25:21
2 Cornithians 7:6

I want to again thank my sister Debbie for helping me set up this blog! Thank you my dear! Love you!

I love monogrammed things........for yourself or a gift....pick up some nice hand towels and have them monogrammed.......buy a pretty scarf for winter and have it monogrammed......your pillow cases....a robe......give a gift certificate to someone from a place that monograms.......most people don't spend money on monograms and this will be a very special treat!

Pick up a nice jar and fill with Jelly Belly's or nuts and give as a gift! This is great for someone that has everything or that is picky..make sure they can have sugar.

For the cook...give a basket of spices and add pretty paper napkins.....or give gifts of cocoa....be sure when you give beverage gifts add some pretty paper beverage napkins....I love that.......and I buy them at Tuesday Morning....people think I am so hard to buy for but they don't really look at what I use........I love a gift of pretty paper napkins that are really special. I have some that I won't use until a wonderful time....they look like lace and are so pretty and they are made of paper. It will be a treat for me to use them.

My sister kim's father in law has a great idea for gift giving.....for someone on a fixed income or a single parent.......I love this. He gets a laundry tub.........and fills with toilet tissue, paper towels, tissue in box, cleaning supplies, washing soap, dish soap, hand soap, clorex wipes, and the list goes on. I think he ties a nice big bow somewhere..I would.......these things cost so much and it will be a treat for someone on a fixed income or single mom.......students, etc.

Decorating Tips for Table and Home

What a great time of year to invite friends over for just dessert and coffee or hot cocoa with whipping cream. Set up your table with fun things to eat........I used to love having just dessert parties.......bring out pretty glassware to use for your sweets. Place Biscotti in pretty tall glasses...you can place the glasses on a tea saucer with a paper doily. Put cookies in pretty boxes with doily's.......line them up in rows. If you have glassware with a dome.....place cookies or candies in those too. Be sure and make the Truffle recipe I have below........that would be pretty in the dome glasswear. Use a decorative tin and place your sweet treats......making sure you have pretty napkins or doily's to use inside the tin or container.......You can use small buckets and place in pretty fabric and place cookies or apples........each person coming can bring a sweet.....or keep it simple with them bringing just cookies and you make the Truffles and provide the coffee and hot cocoa and always make sure you have whipping cream........just a bit of vanilla is great in coffee........I also use whipping cream to top off my coffee. Use pretty beverage napkins that you can pick up at Tuesday Morning for about $1.49 or $1.99.......Have you friends bring a friend.....this is fun for 4 people or more!

I love to take orange peels and cinnamon with water and heat slowly on my stove.....the scent is refreshing and beautiful and costs a lot less than things you buy in the store. I pick up cinnamon for around 70 cents and add water and heat on my stove and my home really smells nice. It will also get you in the mood for winter to come.

I did not vote for Obama because I am PRO LIFE........but I do respect this man and family. I pray that each of you will keep our New President Obama in your prayers. I am praying that JESUS will guide him and that he and his family will be respected and be able to do his job and that he and his family will be safe. He is our new leader and I respect him. For the african american....I am so glad that you are a witness to a leader from your race.....I know this has been a dream for so long and that Megar Evers (sp) did not die in vain or Martin Luther King and all that lost their lives to mean people. That all in the world will know that dreams do come true. I also pray that people are not against colors of the skin....JESUS loves everyone and he died for us all so that we can be forgiven and saved. I hope that all look at our new president with fresh eyes. For any white person that believes only white people are going to heaven.......I challenge you to get on your knees and follow JESUS.....there will be all races in heaven. If you think only the white people are going to be there........then I don't believe you will even make it in to heaven. Love is not conditional.........not real love.....the love that counts.

Thanksgiving

We are so close to the end of the year....it has been a fast one. If we are saved we know to give JESUS "Thank yous" each day. For those of you who do not.......I hope you take the time each day to raise your hands and give praise to our savior Jesus Christ! If you start right now in this month of Thanksgiving for the USA........I do believe you will start a habit to give thanks all the time for everythingin your life and we are to even praise him in our sad times and times of trouble knowing that JESUS will cover us. I met a lady yesterday that was so weary.......hurt and felt broken........I know GOD put us together. She came to our church KidsFest.... I was opening clear bags so the cotton candy could be sealed.........her precious children came and I felt she needed prayer..........we started conversation and then I could see the exhaustion and sadness in her life........she is saved.........praise the Lord...if I never see her again I will see her in heaven..."We will know as we were known".......that is a promise from our Lord. We prayed and I know God is going to do something wonderful in her life.......please say a prayer for Angelia.......that she will be refreshed physically....she has no family.......and she is raising her two kids alone........her mother is states away and very sick.........I know JESUS is with her and she will be better. I suggested that she make a list of everything.......everything she is thankful for in her life.......and give JESUS the praise for all he has done for her. I am also suggesting to each of you to make a list of all your blessings........because we both prayed together JESUS was in the midst of us. Jesus loves us so much he does not leave us. I pray that during the month of November you will give JESUS praise for all your blessings and that your praise and thanksgiving will last each day for the rest of your life..............Have fun this month and if you are going to be alone on Thanksgiving........go visit those who have no one........and you will have a great day!
